Now, the year is 3651 BBY and a new Emperor has been chosen. The Empire relented with their attacks in order to find a new leader and strengthen their forces while the Republic needed time to lick their wounds. The Treaty of Coruscant continued with a stalemate being made between the two superpowers of the galaxy. With the fall of their leader, the plan that was enacted by the Emperor fell flat on itself and the Sith Empire retracted. As peace talks began, however, he perished unexpectedly for unknown reasons. During the time of the Old Republic, specifically the year 3653 BBY, the current Emperor at the time had a grand scheme to take control of Coruscant.
